Specialised Arboricultural Services
At Classic Tree Services, we take great pride in tree protection and maintenance for many local and state government bodies, major commercial clients, and large developers. Since 1988, our team of passionate, fully qualified arborists have been caring for tree protection and conservation amongst Perth’s Local Government sectors.
At CTS, we will help you consider all options before needing to remove a tree. Our team of qualified consultants have experience in protection of trees on all types of development sites and have extensive knowledge in root zone requirements. We also appreciate that in some instances trees must be removed and have the experience and equipment to tackle any tree removal.
What We Do
Government Contracts
Our client base at Classic Tree Services consists of local, regional, and state government bodies. With a team of fully qualified professional arborists, we will manage your tree care needs ensuring risk assessments are completed at every stage of the works.
Emergency Work
Mother Nature doesn’t always follow a schedule, so when emergencies occur, our team at Classic Tree Services can help. Our 24-hour emergency services ensure no matter the time of day or night, we can assess, prune, and when necessary, remove a tree which is causing risk or obstruction.
Risk Assessments
Tree risk must be taken seriously which is why many of our team members hold local and international qualifications allowing us to provide an accurate, thorough assessment. Additionally, we utilise advanced equipment and software to manage projects to align with client and legislative expectations.
Tree Preservation
Both mature and young trees are an essential part of our environment. They help reduce air pollution, provide habitat, add amenity value, improve house prices, reduce hardstand heat island temperatures, assist with physical and mental health recovery, reduce crime rates, and improve community well-being. We always focus on tree preservation as our main priority.
Safety First
Whilst remaining at the forefront of safety requirements and WHS standards, our team prioritise the safety of the community, the environment, and each other. A safety first approach is vital within the environment as many potential risks are unseen beneath the surface.
Our Complete Arboricultural Services

Pests And Disease
Even the heathiest trees can succumb to pest and disease attack, so early identification is critical. At CTS, our staff are trained to keep a keen eye out for problems on all trees that are being worked on or assessed.
Currently most concern relates to Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB), which was introduced into W.A. and identified approximately 3.5 years ago. During this period, it and the symbiont fungus it carries, have spread right across the Perth metro area. The borer and the fungus need each other to exist.
The borer alters the fungus (Fusarium) to become pathogenic and decay the wood in the galleries it creates. The fungus feeds the beetle larvae and young adults and once mated, females depart to find new host sites.
The problem is at a critical stage in W.A. and has wreaked havoc in California and most of South Africa. CTS has been working closely with Bioscience W.A. on treatment options using novel untried approaches. The union has seen the formation of a new entity ARBORBIO, owned by the principals of both companies, created solely to deal with the PSHB problem.
Despite legislative hurdles we are confident we will be able to continue with trials based on sound planning, integrated pest management and input form other industry leaders in entomology and advanced scientific research methodologies.

Is there a difference between an arborist and a tree lopper?
An arborist is a trained and certified professional who specialises in the science and practice of tree care. With extensive knowledge of tree biology, pruning, planting, risk management, and maintenance, an arborist uses specialised equipment and techniques to promote tree health, safety, and longevity.
A tree lopper is typically an unqualified individual who simply cuts down trees or prunes branches without regard for the tree’s health, safety, or longevity. It’s important to choose a qualified and reputable arborist for the benefit of your trees and the environment.
